Statistics Textbook Support Award:

This award is made available by a generous contribution from a recent statistics alumnus, Jonas Mari. Jonas graduated with a BAS in Statistics and Economics Spring Quarter 07 and now works as a statistician/programmer at JP Research Inc. in Mountain View. Jonas himself struggled with the cost of books while he was a student and he would like his contribution to help statistics students defray the cost of textbooks.

You are invited to apply for this award at the beginning of each quarter of the 2007-08 year. The total award amount of $200 each quarter is normally split into two $100 amounts and awarded to two students.

To apply:

• you must be a declared statistics major; if not yet declared in statistics, you must be working toward a statistics degree.
• you must be in good academic standing: 3.0 accumulative GPA or above preferred, but not required.
• documentation (e.g. Electronic Financial Aid Notice) must be provided to demonstrate your financial need.
